The tradition of Strolling Gypsy Violinists  survives at retirement centers, country clubs, festivals, fairs, bookstores, benefits, and  weddings. I play Gypsy standards, sing romantic favorites, and perform classical works.

Educational Presentations are at libraries and schools.  The subjects are either the music of the Romani (Gypsies), or the identification of countries on a large map as a geography lesson from a musical perspective.

About Me:  Classical violin study was a part  of my life from age 8 to 18 in Wisconsin.  I then went to Northwestern University and Iowa State University where I studied mathematics and statistics, forgetting about my violin. I didn't pick it up again until 10 years later, when I had moved to Oklahoma.  I was intrigued by the 'old-timey fiddle' of the area and also the International Dancers club.  When Celtic music came into vogue, I tried my hand at Irish sessions. Years later I came across the book "Gypsy Violin" by Mary Ann Harbar.  This inspiring book came with a CD and I was hooked.  It contained many familiar rhythms and keys from the International Dancers, and, Ms. Harbar's book in particular, knew how to make the violin sound oh-so-good.  Since that time I have continued my study of folk styles for the violin from all over the world.
